The most interesting proposals in Spanish music are coming from the North of the country. Bembibre, a tiny Leonese place, has given us to know GUEDEON DELLA, the last explosive formation for international pop.
First came "Doggy Language" (ER-151), their debut single for our label, predicting, starting from very cared and melodic songs, great moments with endless taste.
Months later, we published their second single, "I Killed The Sky", a small warning of what could be expected of their Lp. And now, with almost no time to digest the new parameters of their music, comes "Sideral Picacandy", an album that, even just being at this early time of 1995, will be so very difficult to be overtaken by the poppy herds of this country.
They take care of the production at the minimal detail (helped by Juanma Más, producer of SILVANIA, USURA, LOOPSIDE, HEBRIDAS, ...) and this time their music shows up with so many more sides, drunk with super intense feelings. There you are the vitaminic "Yellow Pavement", the more classic "Another Summer" or "I Killed The Sky", which already was in the prior single, a track mixing up wild moments with some immensely sad ones, a fucking rainbow to let you slip jumping along it. They can be close to the glassy beauty of MAZZY STAR in a song like "Blue Skies" or shocking with a punk-pop more raging than usual in "Gerard´s birthday". To make a long story short, you can find everything in "Sideral Picacandy".
The best thing with them is that they don't abuse their ways, they open new paths in every song. Their references? Uncountable ... NEIL YOUNG, BELLY, MADDER ROSE, RED HOUSE PAINTERS, BETTIE SERVEERT, THAT DOG, ...though maybe you can't see the connections. A collage of colours so different in the hands of one of the great Spanish pop hopes.
And from here, to heaven ...they'll be waiting for you.
